The odds are that the sound growth of the Bulgarian outsourcing sector will not see its end in the next several years. The total operating revenue of the leading 100 Bulgarian outsourcing companies in 2011 amounted to almost EUR 475 mln, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.08%. Based on this trend, our estimation is for a 6.9% growth in 2012 and between 4.6% and 5.0% in 2013 and 2014.

All three segments of the otsourcing industry are represented in Bulgaria – Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), IT Outsourcing (ITO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO). The research of the top Bulgarian outsourcing companies shows domination of the ITO segment – 68% of them are engaged in ITO activities, while 44% of the companies are active in the BPO segment, including the seven largest companies on the market. The relatively new but with high value added KPO is still a clear underdog with only 12% of the Bulgarian companies operating in this field. A quarter of the examined companies operate in more than one segment.
